With a population of 2.1 million, the Fengtai District is located in Southwest Beijing at the foot of the Western Hills by the Yong Ding River.


Dating back to the Liao and Jin Dynasties, the Fengtai District was the location of the imperial city. In Fengtai, you can find the 900 year old Lotus Pool, the 800 year old and World Famous Lu Gou Bridge (Marco Polo Bridge) that is famous for one of the top eight sights in all of Beijing (Moon over the Lu Gou Bridge at Dawn), the 300 year old Wan Ping Fortress, and the well-known Central Capital of Jin.

In recent years, Fengtai has established itself as a center for ground transportation, financial services, company headquarters, and a research hub for space crafts, as well as the host for multiple international events and exhibitions including the International Garden Expo and Beijing Seed Congress. The Fengtai District, as an extension of the urban area of Beijing, is achieving its goal of becoming the leading example of an Urban-Rural Integration District and an Eco-friendly Residential District. The 9th China (Beijing) International Garden Expo



China International Garden Expo (hereinafter referred to as “the Expo”) is China’s highest-level gathering in garden and flower circle which is held every 2 years. The Expo aims to expand the garden and forestry exchange and cooperation between international and domestic cities, promote the further improvement of artistic level of urban gardening and afforestation, pass on and develop Chinese garden arts, disseminate garden culture, exchange academic thoughts on gardening, promote the healthy and sustainable development of urban construction and garden/afforestation cause, facilitate the sustainable development of urban economy, environment and society. It is an international garden and flower expo integrating Chinese and international gardening arts, cultural exhibition and performance, academic exchange, business negotiation and corporate marketing.

Qing Long Lake Park


Qing Long Lake Park opened to the public in 1997. Since then, it has been one of the most popular destinations in Fengtai for friends and family to get together and enjoy the hard-to-find tranquility in a busy metropolitan Beijing. Qing Long Lake Park was designed i a beautiful Chinese traditional garden style with special emphasis on the balance of the nature and crafted works with an eco-friendly concept.


Qian Ling Mountain

Qian Ling Mountain is located just north of Qing Long Lake Park. At a height of 700 meters, Qian Ling Mountain is a Buddhist mountain where in ancient times many Buddhist monks came here to meditate in the caves on the mountain. In 2010, the longest cable car lane in Beijing began operation on the Mountain. This cable car takes visitor to the highest point on the Mountain where they can enjoy 360 degree  views of Beijing. The Beijing International Triathlon bike course will take competitors along a scenic and challenging porting of the climb to Qian Ling Mountain.



Lugou Bridge Cultural Tourist Area

Lugou Bridge, built in Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), is a national key cultural relic protection unit and the oldest and most grand arc stone bridge in Beijing. On the columns of the railings of the bridge sit many stone-carved lions with vivid and different postures. An old saying in Beijing goes:”the lions of Lugou Bridge are too many to be counted.” “Morning Moon over the Lugou Bridge” is one of the famous “Eight Scenic Spots of Beijing” and the “Rising Lions of Lugou Bridge” was included on the “New Sixteen Scenic Spots of Beijing” list with its distinctive charm.


Wanping Town


The Wanping Town, established in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) is the only well-reserved garrison town with two doors in north China, which is solidly built with an great view. As the historical site of the July 7 Incident of 1937, it not only bears the history of Beijing, but also witnesses the unyielding spirit of the Chinese Nation. Nowadays, it is a place for people to study history and pray for peace.


Beigong National Forest Park


Beigong National Forest Park is a national AAAA-class tourist site and one of the biggest national forest parks close to downtown Beijing. In the park, peach flowers bloom in spring like snow, cicadas sing in the summer valley, the autumn mountains present charming views and one can set foot on the snow in the winter. When visiting Beigong, one can feel a strong emotion like a famous poem goes: crossing these blue hills adds nothing to one’s age; the landscape here is beyond comparing.
