FThe 2017 Beijing International Triathlon Champion Paula Findlay returns this year to defend her title. 2017 proved to be a good year for Canadian triathlete Findlay finishing in first place at Boulder Peak Triathlon, second place at Canadian National Championships and second place at IRONMAN 70.3 Austin. Findlay competed in the 2012 London Olympics for Canada and at age 21 was ranked No. 1 in the world.Fun Facts: Before she became a triathlete, Findlay was a dancer for 14 years. Her favorite foods are apple, chocolate, and peanut butter. And the furthest she has ever traveled for a race is Beijing when she competed in the 2011 ITU Grand Final.
Kicking off the 2018 World Triathlon Season, South Africa’s Henri Schoeman claimed victory at the 2018 ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi. In 2017, he placed second at the 2017 Cagliari ITU Triathlon World Cup and completed a number of impressive races throughout the season. Schoeman took home the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, South Africa’s first Olympic medal in the sport. He also won gold at the 2016 ITU Grand Final in Cozumel. 2018 will mark his second time competing in the Beijing International Triathlon.Fun Facts: When Schoeman isn’t racing in triathlons, you can find him flying his drone and making videos.
